CVBuilderKit is live: upload an old CV, get it back as an editable template
by StartUpBuilderI built CVBuilderKit because every resume builder I tried started the same way: an empty form asking me to retype a work history that already existed in a PDF.
CVBuilderKit starts from the file you already have. Your browser reads the PDF or Word document and extracts the text locally, AI turns it into structured CV data, and you land in an editor with your content already laid out in a template. From there you can:
- switch between 28 templates without losing any content
- edit any field in place, or describe a change in plain language and let the chat apply it
- download the result as a PDF
It is free with daily limits and works without an account. The original file is never uploaded or stored, only the extracted text.
The interface runs in 14 languages, and I have been writing practical guides alongside it (resume summaries, ATS-friendly formatting, software engineer resume examples).
It is still early, and the hardest part so far has been getting found rather than building. I would love feedback on two things: does the upload-first flow feel faster than starting from a blank form, and is there a template style you expected to see and did not?
