This is around the time where the first podcast from Indie Hackers has launched and I have been a big fan ever since.

So last night I did my first podcast on Indie Hackers (first podcast I've ever done) … I hope it turns out well and maybe it can give you some insights about how we approach Dekks and who we roll. I think it launches tomorrow, Friday 14th of November here.

Big hugs to csallen for having me on his show and providing real stories from real people.

Wow, I just discovered Dekks for the very first time. Just by looking, scrolling and reading through your website you got me hooked. I immediately signed up. Now I am also hyped for the podcast to come out.

Just had a look at International Magic and Open Foundry too. I absolutely love everything you have designed and are showcasing on IM. Bold Type, expressive colors and animations – love that stuff. I wrote my bachelor thesis about Web Brutalism and how it evolved as a style, since I am quite into that specific webdesign style. Superimpose.global and 023c.com are two of my absolute favorite websites out there. Funny coincidence to find out about you and Dekks right here on Indie Hackers. 🙌

Keep up what you are doing!

    Hyped for the podcast!

Sick! Thanks for your reply. Can you send us your work to [email protected] … keen to see what you are up to and maybe we can work or jam on something together 👊

Nice Sales page! I feel there are some sample presentations missing on your homepage...or am I missing something? Anyway, looking forward to the podcast :)

Thanks Sebastian … the sample presentations will come shortly! Just deep in production to get the beta ready so we have an actual live walk through on the home page.

      Thanks for the feedback!

I love the design, can't wait to see a demo.

The way you handle errors on the email form is also a very nice touch.

      Thanks David!

I can't wait to get the demo up, but we need a bit more things finished before we can share the whole experience. Did you check out the error on the modal that pops up when you click the top 'Get Updates' button … added a little shake on error 👋

        Even cooler!

I have the worst time pitching my process and USP when selling in person! Its like someone deleted the cache in my brain, and remembering on the spot looks like I'm remembering a sales pitch.
I can't wait to give this a shot - it'll be especially useful as I move from freelance web dev to tech entrepreneur.

        1. 2

I have a notion database of all Benefits, Features and Concepts written out and for each entry I have a long, medium and short form … as well as an objective description of what this specific feature does and then rewritten into an engaging invite. This task really forces you to think deeply about the problem that you are solving and deconstructs your ideas into it's components. (Good way to spot problems early on, when you make it).

          Example (Feature: Identities):

          Long:
A single source of truth to keep all design resources, brand assets and production content in sync. Customise templates, blocks, colours, webfonts and text styles with ease for a unified and consistent experience across your team.

          Medium:
A single source of truth to customise your blocks and keep all your design resources in sync.

          Short:
One place to sync all design resources.

          Short Invite (Active):
Keep all your design resources in sync.

This is my way to filter down and distill the core essence of what you are about to say. You can do the same thing for your USP / Pitch 👉 The concept of First Principals Thinking helps a lot I reckon. The more you think and reverse engineer, the more clear it becomes to you and then you will feel way more secure.

The deeper you go the more it becomes clearer → and stronger. Refine and massage it. And tell everyone about it so you practice it. Also tell people who aren't crazy into tech, non techies … even harder → simplify.

I hope this helps you, just my thoughts, I can also be wrong ✌🏻

Thanks Alex! Good to hear that you liked the podcast … slightly odd to hear your own voice talking LOL
