Since my last post over a year ago, I've almost doubled my followers to 656,000 Instagram followers.
In that space I've noticed a few things about growing a following on Instagram:
Content is king. People are lazy. They don't want to create content BUT they need to post new content every day. If you create original content, people will share it and will also credit you. A share = more eyes on your page = more chances of a follow.
Growing a following is 100% harder now than a year ago. Accept that. Nothing you can do. Instagram will only show your content to a small % of your followers. If people engage then they will show it to some more and so on. Another reason to create original content.
Take away: the fastest way to grow a following on Instagram for 2020 is to create original content DAILY. The daily part is important. The algorithm wants to reward the people who post the most. I have multiple accounts and sometimes I forget to post on the less followed accounts. If I leave them idle for more than a week they start losing followers. When I start posting again it takes more than a week for the followers to start growing. So you need to be posting consistently to grow that following. Post. Every. Day.
