Track my progress creating revenue with side projects.
If I had to choose I gave myself a thumbs down because I have not done enough the last months.
- Started a few new project but did not work on them enough to move them forward
- It has been over 4 months since my last newsletter (I promised myself to write one each month)
- I had difficulties with getting myself to work on my projects
- I let opportunities slide past me
I still have some good results:
- I did create new stories and blog posts on diabeticme.org
- I did gained about 600 new visits on elyfornoville.com
- I gained up to 116 subscribers on elyfornoville.com
- I launched a new project with a friend of me www.projectwp.io
- I gained a bit of extra revenue on side projects
- I been more active on Twitter
My goals for the next months is to step up a bit a start working more detailed on a few projects to move them forward.
Step one is to write my newsletter for elyfornoville.com and write more frequently for diabeticme.org.
Laying out a roadmap and goal based project plan for myself could help me move forward.

My second monthly newsletter is out. Happy!
It's been a little over a month since my last newsletter. So I'm as good as on track for sending one each month. Oof! 😜 I've been working on a few projects since my last newsletter but the main focus has been Diabetic & Me. Which I will explain you in more detail further below.

It was exciting to click on the send button. But 12 hours after sending my first newletter I got some great results and I am happy with them.

- Unsubscribers: 1
- New subscribers: 5
- Website visits: 57
- Twitter followers: 4
- Twitter mentions: 1
Already planning newsletter number two and hoping to send it out in 2 weeks.

My first monthly newsletter is out. Happy!
So here I am. On October 4th I launched elyfornoville.com. I know it's not rocket science, it's nothing dramatic, new or sexy. But who cares! I made it to motivate myself and I'm proud of it.

Two weeks after the launch of my personal website I am excited about the results so far. I never had the idea I would reach this amount of subscribers and I am hoping to get more. The only downside is that I focus so much on working on my other projects that I did not created time to finish and send out my first mailing towards my subscribers. A bit unhappy about this.
In the meanwhile I will keep posting on Indie Hackers with a few results;
- Visits: 559 (+ 107)
- Subscribers: 33 (+ 9)
- Conversion rate: 5,9% (+ 0,6%)
- Featured on Growth Hack List
- First page on HN:SHOW for a day and 7 upvotes
- Clients: Two new clients via Landing Page Specialist
- Projects: Started a new project that I hope to launch next month
Finding time to work on personal things instead of being swamped with work is difficult. If anyone has great advice on how to do this better I am happy to listen.

Funny, that i planned to start something very similar. I just recently decided to write simple blog for now. As looking at your blog - i see that it is working really well for you.

Thank you very much. It's steadily growing.
I worry about spending too much time on working on my personal projects and diving my time over personal projects, client work and working on my writing for the mailing of my personal website. It's something I am struggling with and not afraid to being transparant about it.

One week after the launch of my personal website to track my goals I am happy with the results so far.
- Visits: 452
- Subscribers: 24
- Conversion rate: 5,3%
- Featured on Growth Hack List
- First page on HN:SHOW for a day and 7 upvotes
In the meanwhile I made progress on my new project that I will announce on Indie Hackers soonish and where my personal site supports the motivation for this project.
I hope to launch my newsletter soon to get into more detail about my results and future steps towards personal success.

Yes I'm working on that put that on my email and first blog but I got caught up at my regular day job and my new project. Next week is the week I want to finish a lot of stuff.

I posted my website on Hacker News today under the category 'show'.
Just now I reached the front page of that category. It's not the main front page but it's something.
I received some comments and 3 upvotes so far ranking me at position 14.
It's always a question on how to keep improving your website, create more content, but most important of all; to keep generating subscribers.
I added a subscribers popup on my website that pops up when the user leaves the website.
I noticed that one person subscribed today via that popup.
Current statistics since launch on October 4th:
- Subscribers: 13
- Visits: 209

I've recently done some experimentation with a client that was using email popups.
After watching a lot of Hotjar recordings, we decided to remove it (it clearly annoyed people).We did notice a drop in email signups, but we also noticed a conversion rate increase. While we can't attribute it directly to the popup, it seem that users now stay around longer without the popup.

I agree. But depends on what your conversion is. Mine is just subscribing so it has a benefit. If your conversion is another action that popup might be distracting. Overal you just better test what works and what doesn't.

I did that too for growthhacklist and added a pop up - not a big fan of it but 34% of the new sign ups in the last days for the newsletter came from the pop up

Yes they do actually work pretty well. I guess the most 'hating' part is when and where will it popup.

I forgot to setup an automated thank you mailing when people subscribed. I felt guilt and decided to fix it and I also send out a thank you mail to all my new subscribers manually.
I am proud that my subscribers total went from 5 yesterday to 12 today.
In five days time I will be sending out a first mailing with updates on my personal journey towards $50,000 revenue.

The 7 other came in via posting my product on Indie Hackers and Twitter. It'll be hard trying to get more but already happy so for.
Any advice on on how to get more subscribers is welcome.

I woke up to a Tweet from Tobias Hikari from Growth Hack List that added me on a list with bootstrappers documenting their journey to achieve a certain revenue goal.
Another great boost and motivating factor.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. Recent months have been tough on everyone and we all are trying to do our best and I am sure you do too!
