For years, I've been battling insurance brokers to find business insurance and even home insurance that allowed me to carve maps and globes in my basement.
In the end, it was costing me many thousands of dollars a year in additional insurance costs to keep goodwoodglobes alive. That's more than I can possibly make from a small craft business.
I find it depressing that it's not possible to stay small with a business like this.
In the end I had to heed what the world was telling me. It doesn't want wood-carved maps and globes from me. It wants software.
