⛏️💎 Find mobile growth insights amongst the noise
If you're anywhere close to the mobile and/or advertising industry, you probably have seen things are Apple's new App Tracking Transparency policies: iOS 14/5+ users now have to opt-in explicitly to being "tracked".
This is a major shift for the industry and one that creates a lot of challenges.
Anyway, one of the things app developers have to do is display an "ATT prompt".
After iOS 14.5 launched last Monday, I create a quick Airtable base with a few entries and started sharing it on LinkedIn, TwitterTwitter and a few Slack groups.
It was being heavily shared so I decided to create https://www.attprompts.com/
It's a collaborative effort but I still hope it brings some exposure to my side gig GrowthGems.co.
P.S. I used the quite incredible Softr.io tool that plugs in with the Airtable base. In literally 30 minutes (and I was completely new to Softr), I had the website ready.
Kept on mining the best mobile growth podcasts/webinars for insights, sending the weekly newsletter and promoting GrowthGems.co on LinkedIn.
Current customers are really satisfied about the product so I asked to fill in a survey which I'm using to improve the copywriting on the website.
Also today I integrated Stripe.
Things are taking shape!

Had a great Skype call with a mobile marketing/growth expert (typically my target audience) and at one point I told him that this goes beyond a weekly newsletter: there is a full database with all the insights (gems 💎) from all the resources I review.
I didn't quite get it until I shared my screen, showed the Airtable "database", the filtering by topics, etc.
After the call he reached out and told me he wanted it. I offered to take a 6 months subscription with a $10 discount and here we are, first paid customer!
I guess I'll have to get me a Stripe account soon (went another way for now).

From the first newsletter I got some feedback on the format of my "gem mining", and switched it from Google Docs to Notion, which looks cleaner (especially on mobile). Also added a recap of all the insights (gems) at the top to make it easier to get a quick view.
Now that I feel more confident about the format I shared growthgems.co in another mobile-specific Slack Group which already got me a few more subscribers after 10 minutes and putting me > 100 (104 right now).

I know have reviewed and extracted mobile growth gems 💎 from 20+ webinars, podcasts and conference panel videos.
Today I sent the first email to the list. I'm getting some useful feedback already for the future ones and also sharing Growth Gems in a few other places.

I finally got the landing page ready. I built it with Wordpress (the Bridge theme - not the cleanest theme but it did the job once I got the hang of it) and it is super simple: I first mention the free newsletter (with a field and CTA to subscribe to it), detail what's in it and then I talk about access to the 💎 database.
I shared the landing page with a few peers to get some feedback and adjusted slightly.
Once I gave him the go ahead one of them shared it on Twitter (thanks Thomas!) and I shared it in a couple of places. This gave me about 75 subscribers in the first 2 days.

There is a content overload in the mobile marketing space: a lot of podcasts and webinars. People don't have the time to watch everything, which translated into FOMO but also a missed opportunity to learn insights that could help their business and careers.
So I decided to start reviewing 3-5 long long-form resource (webinar, podcast, etc.) on mobile growth/marketing per week. For each, I take notes, highlight the main gems 💎 and indicate the timestamps if people want to dig deeper.
I share gems from 1 resource per week in the free newsletter, and people can also have paid access to the (Airtable) database where I add each resource I review.

I wanted to formalize the way I stay up to date on growth and mobile marketing while bringing value: I curate long-form content and extract insights (gems 💎) so people don't have to.
