However, what's the purpose of all this effort if, at the end of the day, your work doesn't stand out amazingly? I've come across multiple designers who complain about not attracting clients. Yet, upon visiting their websites, I find their work to be of poor quality, despite having a stunning website template. Having a great template alone won't suffice.
To truly excel, venture out and create exceptional work first. Upload your creations to platforms like Behance or Dribbble to garner views. Dedicate yourself to producing a design each week and spend the entire week refining that design. Engage in research to grasp new trends and incorporate them into your work. One crucial aspect: present your designs beautifully. This single step can catapult you into the top 10% of designers above the average. It might sound unbelievable, but it's accurate. Not everyone possesses the determination to craft outstanding work.
It's amusing every time I encounter unsuccessful designers claiming that a decent life isn't attainable solely through graphic design. If you've faltered as a graphic designer, it's likely due to your inadequacy and lack of initiative. Attending college and studying graphic design merely comprises around 5% of the journey. The remainder requires self-guided learning and daily practice. If triumph is your goal, diligent and intensive effort is mandatory.
Recently, I've realized a crucial factor: I was putting in strenuous effort to enhance my design skills, yet I wasn't doing enough to showcase my work. Neglecting platforms like Twitter was a regret. Twitter, like design, requires constant improvement. Another powerful tool is Behance. In the last two months, I committed to it earnestly to attract more clients. The results were astounding: my project views surged from 12,000 to 35,000, appreciations soared from 700 to 2,500, and my followers multiplied from 300 to 1,200. All this was achieved through consistent updates, with a new upload every week.
The outcome? Five leads, two new clients, and three potential clients who might join our design packages.
