The data management program id

This program is provided by Sol Computing.

It helps people to communicate, manage content, manage databases, and trade. If one uses e.g. Medium, Coda, ClickUp, and Shopify, and struggles to make them work together using e.g. Make, one has the alternative to pay less for one program that is going to be more useful than all these combined.

  1. About the developer
    1.1 Principles of communication
    We communicate as personally as possible. (Mass advertising is impersonal.)
    In writing:
    Data that needs to be analysed / stored, e.g. agreements.
    We use Podio for private communication.
    In speech:
    We discuss our services.
    We use modern programs like Around.
    We allow clients to build relationships with the Sol communicators they like.

We communicate as publicly as possible. Humanity is our community.
We let you vote on many things. You can suggest polls.

1.2 Principles of work
The results of our work must be of the highest possible quality.
We choose co-workers who want to serve people to the best of their knowledge and who prove the best talent and highest competency we find.
We look for resources that can be reused, e.g. excellent code that others would license to us.
We keep looking for the best possible programs. When we find them, we recommend them and we discuss with their developers the possibility to make id exchange data with their programs.

1.3 Principles of design
1.3.1 We make id function better than current programs, solving the complaints of their users.
1.3.2 We add what functions people need so that computers serve them better.
1.3.3 We place profiles, messages and, labels in nets.
We can display these nets using code from programs like Kumu.
1.3.4 We increase the number of shapes. We use e.g. shapes inspired by nature.
1.3.5 We can let users use messages in pieces of content and pieces of content in messages.
1.3.6 We’ve seen in many cases a single default setting. If there are 10 settings and a user prefers 3 of them, the user can create in id a hierarchy of 3 default settings. We also offer usage statistics (so the user sees which settings they use most often) and allow the user to ask id to make such choices for them.
1.3.7 One can create schemes of alerts, e.g. from whom, about what and when.
1.3.8 One can edit the size of interface components, e.g. the width of messages.

  1. About the software
    id helps one do many things, and includes more and better functions than other programs.
    Would a program browser help us more than an Internet browser? We should use programs to manage any data. I may have written this as early as 2015. Some people have created programs like Station in the meanwhile.

2.1 Identification
A human is a human, whether they use the Internet or not. So we can help people to identify in person, too. For now we focus on identification in person with the help of the Internet: people meet and at least one person makes available to another an identification data set. Each of us can make available different data subsets to different persons. Before we go into that, let’s discuss what data the main set should include for any identification! I list these:
a. the usual headshot used for identity cards and for most social profiles
b. a person’s full name
c. several fingerprints
d. a 12-digit code that numbers people from 1 to n and starts with zeros: 000000000001

Initial identification
This is the procedure that we suggest for creating one’s identification data set having one of my team members as an online witness:
The two of you start a video call.
You (or they) take a picture of your face and store it in your account with us. (They approve your picture.)
You show them a valid identity document and they check whether your name matches the one you had input in your account.
You let them see that you register one or more fingerprints in our program.
After these several minutes, they will assign to you your personal code, which could identify a person as a global citizen.

Usual identification
You use a fingerprint reader to log in. Some computers include one.
id is going to be compatible with identification means like security keys.
My team can help us identify to any computer program, e.g. the operating system, the Web browser, and Web applications. Once one identifies to the operating system, one can use all the programs that find this single identification step sufficient.

Identification in person
If person 1 uses a computer to store on the Internet a small set of identifying data which would include several fingerprints, when person 2 asks person 1 to identify themselves, person 1 can touch a fingerprint reader of any computer, which will use our program to check this print against the stored ones.

Size-1 computers can replace identity documents. (I wrote this years ago. In the meanwhile, they are replacing them.)

2.2 Graphics
We try to use colours that are close to natural colours.
You can create colour schemes, set fonts as you please, and resize and reposition interface components.

2.3 Profiles
You can choose what data your profile includes, making it as complex as you find useful.
When a user creates their profile, they must indicate in what languages they are going to communicate.
You can follow as many people as you please. This was a novelty in 2015.

2.4 Rights to data
It’s useful for computer users to grant these rights as they like.
The ability to use data is more consequential than the rights to use them.
You can choose when the Sol Software Development team and any other people can use your data.

The ability to sense data
One can view data or listen to data.

The ability to change data
One can add data by creating data or by copying data and delete data.

2.5 Parameters
You can group parameters in sets with different value combinations and (de)activate sets as you please.
