AI interviews, coding practice and coaching in one place

September 2, 2026 I built my first product: a connected platform for interview preparation

Hi Indie Hackers! I’m Ismail, the founder of Interview Prep Academy.

I built it around a question: after studying concepts, solving coding problems, and practicing answers, how does someone decide what to improve next?

Preparation can become scattered across different tools. I wanted to connect learning, practice, interview rehearsal, and feedback in one place.

Interview Prep Academy includes courses, coding and SQL challenges, timed mocks, résumé analysis, and progress tracking. Zaheen, the AI voice interviewer, lets candidates rehearse spoken answers and receive structured feedback. The AI Coach helps guide their preparation.

The business model combines free practice tools with a paid Pro subscription for AI voice interviews and coaching.

This is my first product launch. My background is in software quality engineering and AI testing, which shapes my focus on clear evaluation criteria and useful feedback.

The next challenge is validating whether bringing these activities together helps people return and practice consistently.

I’d appreciate feedback from this community: is the value clear, and which part of the experience would you test first?

Congrats on shipping this, Ismail — the "scattered across different tools" problem is real and I don't think it gets talked about enough in this space. I'd test the Zaheen voice interview + feedback loop first, above the courses and challenges. Reasoning: courses and coding/SQL practice are things people can already get elsewhere, so they're not really where your specific thesis gets tested. The connected part — rehearse out loud, get structured feedback, have that feedback actually point you back to the right next thing to practice — is the part nobody else is doing quite this way, and it's also the part most likely to prove (or disprove) whether "connecting everything" genuinely beats having separate tools.
