Launch failed on Product Hunt

What a total disaster! I actually launched LunarSight on Product Hunt on Friday, but it was really bad timing and it was automatically rescheduled for Sunday. It got only 25 votes, the least of my other 2 products. I suppose I should have waited till Monday?

For some reason, the app sold around 20 units in a day, which was unexpected and probably due to a post on Reddit. I also tried the free $100 credit on Search Ads and consumed $20. That got me 2 installs, very weak. So far the sales seem to have stalled, it’s too soon to make anything out of the available app store data.

I would say I expected even worse, given that a Moon app that still needs more functionality is not the most thought after app. A friend told me to leave it as is and make another iOS app, build like 10 of them. I don’t really like the idea of wasting my time making stuff I’ll discard, so I’ll keep improving this one.
