My secret plan to improve SEO

My site serves no purpose unless people can see it. So with tons of events coming in every day through the AI / backend, it's time to start focusing on the front-end, and improving traffic coming to the site.

Right now, it's just social-media referred traffic, but my goal is to get it to the front page when you search "gay toronto events" or "lgbt toronto events" or some variation of that.

As you can see, the page only appears when explicitly using the site's domain in the search bar, so I've got a lot of work to do. Here's my general plan:

  1. Run the site through the Lighthouse chrome extension, and fix any obvious answers.
  2. Run some of the basic rendered HTML through ChatGPT and ask for any SEO suggestions.
  3. Provision Google Search console, and fix any issues
  4. Generate a site map and upload it to Google Search Console
  5. Update the title to be simpler, remove the branding from the title.

Is there anything I'm missing?

I'm noticing there is also a little date associated with the page. The page itself is updated daily, so I'm not entirely sure what that means... more to figure out.
