Removing Google Analytics
by Cyril NicodemeWe stopped using Google Analytics to track our visitors, and we have been doing so for a few weeks now, so the statistics shown in the "Website" section was not representative of our real number of visitors.
That's why today we decided to remove the Google Analytics integration from IndieHacker.

Since Google Analytics has been blocked by many ad blockers, it is not really precise anymore. Instead, I track the account creations and upgrades (to paid customers) by sending events to Amplitude.
Of course, this doesn't show me when there is a spike in visitors on my website (if someone mention PDFShift on their highly frequented blog or influencer on Twitter), but if they don't convert, the result will be the same.
