Potential Problem Identified

After a few months of clarifying my criteria and thinking deeply about what I want in a project, and then searching for problems I think I've hit on something that meets my own criteria and is a real problem as far as I can tell.

As an independent developer I want to be able to find platforms/apps/sites with opportunities for me to build on them and add value as a third party. For example an emerging blogging platform to develop plugins, an enterprise SaaS to build migration tools for, an emerging social channel to build analytics for, etc. The idea is to create an index of apps/platforms/sites and attempt to measure their traction and growth. This index can then be used to identify opportunities for developers to hitch their wagons to. You can think of this as the product research aspect of JungleScout for third party tool developers.

My next steps are talking to other indie hackers and look at the technical feasibility and what signals we can practically use.
