Scratching my own itch
by Harry LucasEvery single app or company I built/worked out ended up implementing the same functionality time and time again - tracking how important features are used across the app to understand how are users use the product.
It was frustrating to setup the same infrastructure / architecture every time:
- Setup a slack application and configure all the right Oauth permissions etc.
- Track and monitor all the important events that happened in our application
- Batch burst of events (Sales & Ops hated getting 50 slack messages in a short burst)
- Visualise and see trends in these events and how they change over time, to help us make better decisions
There are obviously tools out there we could have used (e.g. Zapier etc.) but none of them felt simple and easy to setup. I wanted it to be as simple as a few clicks, drop in some tracking code and we're on our way, that's what we've built.
Rella makes all the above ridiculously simple. Connect your slack account (more destinations coming in the future), choose which events to send where, track them in your app and you're done. No complex setup, batching automatically handled and tracking and analytics out of the box.
