First 10 paying customers for Remote Leaf

Today it finally happened! We got our first 10 paying customers 🙌

I’ve introduced Remote Leaf soft beta during the month of September, I didn’t do any marketing, just answering questions on IH actively participating in the WIP Telegram.

I’ve released the free version of my product in Google Sheets and it helped in acquiring few paid users. I’m planning to write a separate blog post about it very soon. Last few months I was more focused on the product, writing the landing page, email automation and curating good quality jobs.

Current Stats

Total number of users: 73
Paying Customers: 10

Few IH users provided valuable feedback to add a trial period and starting today I’m introducing the trial period.

If you are looking for a remote job in 2020? Check out Remote Leaf. Please do recommend to your friends 👏

Goal
The next goal is to focus on getting 100 customers, let’s see how many days it’s gonna take reach this goal. I will keep you posted.

That is brilliant well done, I look forward to the 100 customer milestone!

  2. 2

Congrats on your achievement! Great milestone 😀

If I may advice you one thing, try to make your subscription form more clear on a mobile device. (I first thought it was just a mail subscription form, but skipped the whole form pretty fast because there were so many options to choose from).

From a UX point of view, I’d make the categories as a select box, instead of radio buttons.

Good luck with your next goal!

Thanks for the feedback Erhan. You are suggesting to keep the categories as a multi-select box? btw, I've used checkboxes for categories and radio buttons for choices like email frequency & plan.

Seems pretty cool your solution, congrats @abinaya.

Maybe if you add Flutter and React Native can be so much cooler :)

    1. 1

Hey Lucas, We already curating the Flutter/React Native remote jobs. You could choose "Mobile Development" category to receive the jobs. Are you interested?

Typo in your copy: "I'm spend more " -- should be -- "I spend more"

    1. 1

Good catch. I just fixed it. Thanks 👍

And on your home page, "If there are remote jobs in tech, we will find it" - should be "If there are remote jobs in tech, we will find them." :-)

Very good service, I could use this myself.

        1. 1

Thank you for the feedback, I'll fix this.

Well done and I LOVE the name!

    1. 1

Haha, thank you. Do you think it matches with the product context :)

      1. 1

For sure. The "leaf" symbolizes the start of something new / new beginnings, so it fits in really nicely with a career site.

Literally 2 hours ago I was thinking about the same idea and then I found this! Looks like there is no need to go into that then 😅. Congrats and good luck!

not true. There are many remote job boards like this one some are free, some are subscription based like this one. If you can think of how to improve on this or do it differently by targeting on certain types of users, you can also do it. Compare your idea to this one and see where it differs and try to build it.

Not sure if you have this, but it would be nice to know if the company hiring is entirely remote or not. I'd consider going remote only if the rest of the company was remote. If everyone else is in the office but they're letting me work remote I wouldn't be as interested. This might be more time intensive to research though.

    1. 1

We don't curate this information. But this is an interesting request, thanks for writing it down. I'm gonna add this to the roadmap. As you said it's gonna be a time-intensive work, but if we gather enough information about the company it would be easier I guess. Let's see.

Something for me, will try and signup within next days

    1. 1

Perfect, let me know if you need any help! Thanks

  12. 1

Congrats! Keep it up, I want to see you get the next goal :)

  13. 1

This is so cool, congrats! As more companies start supporting remote work, there will be more demand for such aggregators.

How much of the aggregation is automated?

    1. 1

Thank you. All of the aggregation is manual work(it's really time-consuming). I've automated the subscription management and some bits of the email automation.

      1. 1

recently some non-programming web scrappers appeared on the surface, maybe try those?

      2. 1

You could write some scripts to look for certain words (at least the first pass), hire some people to lessen the workload etc. Maybe become friends with recruiters who specialize in finding people for remote work? After all, if you sent good candidates to them, they would benefit more than you from the partnership!

Thank you for replying. Good luck, I'm curious to see where this goes. I work remote and I am dreading the day I might have to leave my current job and not being able to find remote work.

        1. 1

Yes, when this becomes sustainable I can hire somebody to take off the burden and focus on the automation or any other work. I still want to manually curate/screen/tag the jobs since it's broken now. May be automation can solve the curation part of it.

Thanks for the ideas. Good luck with the remote job!
