600 signups & 43 upgrades in 20 days

Wow it's really cool to see the traction so far & so quickly. We've worked really hard to get to the point of just launching a new software which allows us to track sexier KPIs than in the past.

What is the biggest challenge scaling from 1k users to 10k?

That's brilliant @jacobj132. What was your marketing strategy and do you have any job seeker community that you target?

Yes excellent question. I'll just reply in bullet points to try to cover everything clearly. Maybe it is more interesting to share our full story?

      • Founded company in 2015, started with resume templates, reviews, and writing
      • Launched a version 1 of the software, no database, everything was local = no saving email leads. 26k+ resumes created over 2.5 years.
      • Had about 3,500 paying customers for service based products above. An additional 3.5k email leads from blog, events, and social media.
      • We are the leading English resume company in South Korea (huge market - http://www.mobiinside.com/2017/12/05/rezi-korea-startup/) so we have a lot of reach in Seoul. We also support Seoul National University's career center for English resumes.

For marketing, we like to do seminars in Seoul where we invite 100 - 250 job seekers and teach them how to use the software to make a perfect resume. We are partnering with IE Business School for these events - (https://www.rezi.io/events/ let the page load its super slow.....)

These events result in genuine connections with the end user. As a result, people really love the brand & we are really reaping the benefits of network effects these days.

We still have all of the past customers & leads to introduce the new software too and also a launch on producthunt. Lot's of juice left.

For communities, I loved Reddit - that is actually where I started the company 4 years ago - after seeing the demand for my resume since it was entirely successful for companies like Google, Goldman Sachs, Dropbox, & more. However, they banned Rezi since the anti-promoting rules.

So if I am understanding correct you successfully leveraged your association with universities? Was it difficult to partner with them or were they on the lookout for a solution like this?

Have you experimented with online marketing?

Don't have first-hand experience here, but from what I've read from blogs of other successfully scaled startups and marketing wonks to scale you need:

    a) To work on enhancing the final end of your funnel in order to make existing users stay and refer other people
    b) To find new marketing channels that your audience uses

What is the ultimate goal of your startup though?

Thanks for the reply - our final goal is to be acquired.

Hi Jacob! Very cool stuff. Keep us posted...

Nice work man! You will definitely have some fun problems ahead of you. This is where you run into big challenges like scaling, and being able to appropriately support the users.

Nows the time to review your infrastructure and make sure it can handle all the data your crunching with it.

Totally - fun problems and interesting questions that shape the future of the company. A lot directions to take this.

I love the logo but I am starting to agree actually. I have an idea of what it would be if we upgraded but it is a matter of my bandwidth. We are working on a deal to bring our new software to universities in Singapore ..... priorities!

Do you have an example of a logo you like? Just curious
