Around the table with 3 of us cofounders, we began talking about what the next big platform shift in software might be. One of us had ridden the wave when personal computing took off, and we were speculating what the next big wave would be. It struck us that voice could be it: Amazon, Google, Apple and others have been quietly integrating voice assistants everywhere. The fact that there are over 150 million individual Alexa devices in the US, and growing, was the thing that tipped us. And they're mostly just used for weather, music and timers, it turned out. Why not more? We had to start looking into what we could do to enable the next shift in this platform. We think Shoutworks might help get more people producing content for it, and with more good content, usage might start to pick up in big and new ways.
