Last night I prepared a short 2 min launch video that I posted in the Facebook group. This morning I woke up to my first paying customer. He was not part of the beta tester group, but just someone that watched my intro videos and decided it was worth their money to get my extension. What a great feeling!
Just checked to see if there was any issue on my Chrome Developer dashboard. I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise, the extension is now live!

I am pretty excited about it. Not gonna announce it in the group yet... I need to make a video to launch it, since it grabs more attention. I will only ask a couple of users if they want to sign up.
After having fixed most of the bugs, the MVP has been submitted to the Chrome store. Prepared all the material needed for submission. Submitted on a weekend right after finishing the build... guess I got a bit excited as it was already 4am and been working on it since the day before.
I created a small Facebook group for beta testers. Posted in the main Facebook group that I was looking for 5-6 testers for my chrome extension. Ended up with 30 testers of which 15 provided good feedback, others were kinda passive. Overall got some great suggestions from the testers. I fixed a few bugs that popped up from the testing.
Got a lot of good feedback from the Facebook group on the free extension. Decided to use Angular + Firebase since I was more comfortable with that architecture. Using Firebase for Auth and Stripe connection. Also having a backend will help me add more features in SaaS style because displaying things in the extension is very limited.
After having coded the MVP Chrome extension using jQuery, I launched it in the Chrome store:
I then announced it in the Facebook group to see how many people would be interested in getting the extension. This extension did only a basic subset of the methodology taught in the group. It was well received, 41 current users up to now (Feb 10, 2020). Also got a lot of suggestions on features I could include in the paid version.
I decided to create a Free Chrome extension to test the waters in the Facebook group. I wanted to do that to see how the group responds to a developer creating a tool for them to use. Began to learn coding Chrome extensions and researching monetization on Chrome extensions
As part of an audiobook publishing FB group, I found an opportunity to automate some of the manual processes in place to research niches and keywords. The niches and keywords chosen for publishing the audiobook are what determines the success of that audiobook.
