Working towards first sale

Just joined IndieHackers, excited to be part of this community. I've been looking for JUST THIS for a while now.

My goal is to acquire my first paying user by the end of the year.

This month I've done a lot of writing to improve the copy on the website.

I have a few leads in the pipeline who are close to converting, but here is what I need to do.

  • Fix bugs
  • Improve default look of Spreads
  • Create onboarding / documentation
  • Keep up conversations with users

Who else is working towards their first sale? Do you have an action plan?

Hahaha, great logo (context: It is a sheet being spread with butter, love puns).

Loving the idea of this tool, If i were you, i would try targeting keywords related to Webflow and other "no-code website builders", as those are probably more likely to be looking for this type of tool.

Publishing a tutorial/video named "How to embed a calculator in webflow" or something like that might help, just a thought.

I am also working towards my first sale, also in the "Sheets market" (db2sheets.com), I think for my product, running ads on related subreddits might be an efficient way to go, but still to be proven.

Following this product to see how it goes :)

      Haha, thank you!

Yes, definitely writing those tutorials with the relevant copy will be useful. Planning to do one each for Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress, and Bubble.

I love your website! Excellent framing of the customer's struggle. Nice work with the comparisons too!

Working towards it. Still in development and building an organic presence with Google. Project started at the beginning of August so still very early in the process.

This is my 2nd time around. Built a software business from scratch 10yrs ago (sold it last year). I always focus first on getting a good presence online (by blogging) but YouTube will factor into the equation as well as soon as there is an alpha version.

My advice: start getting beta testers signed-up! Do this by creating content and sharing it.

Nice work and congrats on the sale!

Do you create a new presence for each product or do you have your own set of followers?

        Starting from scratch :)
