People deal with stress in different ways. I've come to terms with how my body reacts, and how I can read the signals. So after the death of my father that took a toll on both my psyche and my body, I kind of knew from experience what I had to do in order to get back on track again.
I thrive on routine, so I wanted to get back to work. I knew my body needed more rest than usual, so I made an effort to sleep 8-10 hours/night. I spent more time outdoors than usual, either running in the forest or riding my bike. I meditated a couple of times a week (unguided, no fuss), usually after running.
I knew I had to get back slowly, not to break. So I set small goals initially. The first week on getting back, I only wrote 10-50 lines of code. The next week I wrote 100. And I kept on increasing the effort until I was back in phase.
I wanted a smartphone app for my product TAYL, so that was my next project. From my previous experience with smartphone apps I know launching on both iOS and Android can be insanely time consuming. The cross platform-solutions available are not always on par with what the user expects in terms of user experience. Luckily, I had come across Flutter a while back and decided to try it out.
Flutter seems very inspired by React, which helped me in becoming efficient. I built the entire app in only a couple of days, and was ready to launch first on iOS. I couldn't launch on Android straight away, because I ran into some issues building the release bundle, and didn't feel like spending a lot of time debugging something.
