THE MILLION

1,000,000 permanent spots

September 4, 2026 I built a 1,000,000-spot “digital ownership” experiment. $2 a spot, permanent, no subscription.

Hey IH, first post here.

I’m a solo founder in Nigeria, building under CDT TECH. Just launched something called THE MILLION.

The idea: exactly 1,000,000 numbered spots, $2 each, permanent. You claim a spot, drop your link, and it’s embedded in the grid forever. No subscription, no expiry, no renewal.

It’s inspired by the old Million Dollar Homepage from 2005, but I wanted to build my own version of that idea, permanence as the value, not utility.

No funding, no team, just me and a $2 price point deciding if the concept holds up. Happy to answer any questions about how it’s built or why I made the calls I made.

The $2 price makes this a clean test of the value proposition. Do buyers see the spot as something worth owning for its permanence, or are they mainly paying for the exposure their link gets from being on the grid?

Honestly, I think it’s a bit of both. The permanence is a big part of the appeal, but the ability to put your name, project, or link on a permanent public grid is what makes the $2 feel worthwhile. The interesting part for us is seeing which of those actually drives people to buy.

That’s the interesting part to validate. Once you have enough purchases, I’d be curious whether buyers themselves describe the permanence or the exposure as the reason they bought.

About

It exists because permanence is rare online now, and people miss it.
