In late 2020 WorkFlowy added the ability to embed links into bullets, and it would prove to be a game changer.
A few months later and I was looking to improve my scheduling game, and I wondered if I could create columns using my WorkFlowy x 2 script dynamically by clicking on links.
I got a POC working in about an hour, and it took an evening and early morning of work to convert this into a browser extension which would enable multiple-columns on the click of a toolbar button:

It turns out this would enable me to do away with bloated "To do" lists, and instead link directly to the content in a kind of "custom navigation" and open any link in a new column and "deep dive" without losing context.
It's been a bit of a game changer for my productivity; at the top of my schedule I have a link to "distractions inbox" and whenever I notice myself getting distracted with something, I just click that link, write down the idea, copy the URLs, whatever is needed and can get on with the task in hand!
With any luck, and the pressure from apps like Roam, WorkFlowy may introduce something like this in the core product. That would enable not just copy and paste, but actual dragging and dropping of nodes to any tree / column you like.
Here's hoping!
