Started working on Zenbase
by pupcakesFor a while I had started thinking about creating a Saas to supplement my income from my other business. I ended up deciding to participate in the SkyDB Hackathon.
I had been watching GunDB a few years earlier but had dismissed it because persisting my data through a server or a relay was too annoying. I'm not sure what brought it back into my mind but I realized that the combination of the two technologies showed promise.
The idea was interesting to me so I thought it would be a good way to start a new startup. The MVP took about the whole 3 week period of working part time on it (despite the main result being about 50 lines of code). I got some amount of publicity doing it and I should receive some amount of money for my participation (It's not been judged yet, but the consolation prize for what I did was worth about 150 dollars). That's not bad when looked through the lens of a potentially profitable business.
