Hello, I’m Dan. I’ve started and failed three companies, scaled two startups to the millions, Bannerman (Y-combinator) and Keepe (Techstars), and founded a venture backed startup, Orca, a sales automation tool that helps teams reach their holy grail: Traction.

You won’t find me listed in Forbes 30 under 30 or any other publication for that matter (at least not yet). I’m not “successful” by society’s definition, that is, I don’t drive a Ferrari to work or live in a $25M mansion on the coast of some dream destination.

No, sir. I’m just a regular dude with a passion for startups trying to make shit happen. And just because I haven’t made billions from an IPO or exit doesn’t mean I can’t offer you anything.

The thing is… I’ve made quite a bit of mistakes in life and I’ve gotten really good at it.

You’re probably wondering to yourself… “Uhhh, that’s cool, Dan… Congrats, on being good at failing?”

No, that’s not what I mean. You see, over the years, through the ups and downs of life, I’ve developed different perspective towards life and I’m here to share that view with you.

Why? Because I really want you to succeed in life, not on society’s terms, but by your terms. I want you to do right by you. Easier said than done.

Influencers in the startup space spend a lot of time talking about what I call the outer game or other words skill-based topics like pitching, raising money, marketing, selling, etc. And while these topics are wildly important, meaning you should definitely up your outer game, I think there is something more important that needs to be addressed, and that’s what I call the inner game.

The inner game is the game you’ll need to play if you want to find happiness. If money is the most important thing to you in life, I can’t help you because I’m still trying to figure that shit out myself.
