You mention on your page that you also collect rent. I assume you use something like PayPal or Stripe? If that's the case. How do you present the 2.9% fee coming off each charge?
Hi Matthew - I do use stripe to manage recurring rent payments. Stripe's ACH processing is capped at $5, that amount can either be assumed by the landlord or passed onto the tenant each month. I don't allow rent collection via credit cards currently.

One caveat is that I don't think you're charging enough. Maybe make it free for 1 property and charge $15-30 for 2-5(~10) properties?

Hi Rich - Thanks! I'm playing around with the pricing to find the sweet spot. for now the most important product development has come from feedback provided by current landlords so the more landlords I can get on board now the better the product will be down the road.

Hmm. Personally I don't see myself paying 200$ for some random unknown untested internet place. If I did test it several months and found out useful, then I wouldn't mind.

Of course, that's why I proposed a graduated price. The people who take a gamble early pay $10, not $200, for lifetime access.
I also like the idea of letting people try it out, but probably in a controlled way -- like free to all students of particular classes.

Can you remember how you first found my site? I've had really good retention but a lot of people don't find it until after they've already learned the basics of Elixir. I've been thinking about changing marketing strategies.
I found you by looking for tutorials of phoenix on youtube. I tend to learn better with visual. Not sure exactly what I was looking for. I was playing around with learning phoenix/elixir at beginning of the year when I found you but switching from oop programming was hurting my brain. Our current focus is on validating the MVP. That's why we are just sharing it on multiple platforms like Indiehacker, Reddit and OnePageLove.

I am working on a similar concept, but am wondering how you deploy your product? This is aimed at product/department owners within larger companies. So after you develop a tool/processor for the repetative task, how do you get it deployed and installed without having said owner need to approach corporate IT Service?
I'm approaching it from a manual labor direction, not tech solutions.
There is work that companies need people to do, not everything can be automated esp for older industries. But its repetitive and time-consuming. So it's about transitioning that work to my team so that the client's team can stop spending time on it.
I build out manual processes, the training materials on how to do it, then hire a team and train/manage them to do the ongoing manual work. It drops the cost of the work by up to 87% depending on how expensive the employees are.
My advice based on what you said: If you're looking to sell tech solutions and don't want there to be a large chain of approvals, it needs to be very easy to implement - minimal engineering time - and it needs to be cheap. It sounds like it would be hard to not involve IT services though if it needs to be implemented.

Tried it out for a few minutes.. it looks great, nice job! I got mixed up with the save/cancel buttons on the right at first. Wasn't sure whether 'x' meant cancel or delete, or if I was applying to the heading or the body. So it took a bit of getting used to. On my screen (using a desktop right now) it was pretty wide, so a lot of mouse motion needed. I like that you have "save on enter" implemented in most places.
It'll be very useful when you get to the sharing functionality! I could see it being useful for collaboration on projects or just note taking.

Cool! I really like the no code/infrastructure movement. Are you targeting frontend developers similar to firebase? Asking because the first thing I think about is having pre-defined tools (kind of like form mail tools, but could be more) that generate drop-in code on websites for less technical users. Not trying to mess with your MVP, of course. Just sprang to mind :)
That's an interesting suggestion.. I'd considered building sample backend apps and making them importable, then building frontends for them and just publishing the code on github, as starting points or examples. I like the drop-in code idea though.

I think it's pretty good messaging, based on my brief view.
I do a lot of frontend dev, but I'm far from in-the-loop with all the tech available, so I'm not sure how your offer compares to something like firebase.
My first thought was "How would you deal with authentication/authorization?" But I may have glossed over that detail.
I assume you've thought of some example use cases and make sure it covers the bases. Maybe you could publish an example or something to clarify how it all fits together. Like a to do list or something?
