Ask IH: Do you submit your website sitemap into multiple search engines when you create or update your web?

Ask IH: Do you submit your website sitemap into multiple search engines when you create or update your web?

I have just handfull of websites where I time to time write some new content. When I have done that I had to go Google Search Console and resubmit my sitemap. I have found it quite tedious so I have created some simple tool for myself that would keep track of my previously submitted domains.

I am not sure if resubmitting sitemap is still a thing in 2019. :)

P.S.: I have just improved sitemap detection - https://www.indiehackers.com/product/submit-sitemap/-LXn3ZRXXXUu41hDmoTB - so you can try it out. :)

My observation is that when website is receiving lot of traffic then it is crawled a lot so it does not have to submitted. But for new site or site that was changed and does not have too much traffic it may be worth to do one extra click. :)

Doesn't Google mentions that submitting your sitemap is not a must-have and has no impact on your ranking? I would do that maybe just one time or automate the generation of the sitemap.

You don't need to resubmit your sitemap on each update of your website.
