[Ask IH] Would you use a tool which helps you get a raise at work?
Here's the idea: create a convenient place to note your achievements and level-ups at work. Build a tool to help turn these rough notes into beautifully-written summaries, demonstrating the value you've contributed and the skills you've developed with solid examples. Once you've built up a good case, export it all as a document or compile it into a gorgeous web layout, and present it to your manager. Best case scenario; you receive a well-deserved pay rise. Worst case scenario; you have valuable content for your CV, LinkedIn, appraisal documentation, next covering letter etc.
What do you guys think? Do you see any value in such a service?
Sounds exactly like what I'm working on Fairpay.app
Wow, yes that’s what I was imagining. Nice work!
Have you had much interest so far? Do you already have customers on the $8 plan?
I'm still not settled on price, i think i'm providing enough value for a paid tier. However, I've also considered making it a one-time purchase or just annual renewal. I personally think subscriptions have been overdone. So with regards to pricing I'm still unsure.
In terms of usage, i only just recently launched on 1/11, I've not been putting much effort in marketing/sales but i can share that my Google Ads campaign has driven 19.9k impressions and i've managed to keep my CPC at just $0.40 with about 500 clicks. I managed to convert about 9% of those to signups.
As of right now i'm providing all of the paid features for free while i settle on how to proceed with pricing and perceived value.
I welcome the challenge if you decide to give it a go and launch your own thing, i think it would be great to push one another to provide better services.
I love your attitude! Unfortunately I have too much on at the moment to invest much time into a new project - but I’m keen to see how you get on with it.
Thanks for sharing your results!
I could see myself using this if it was easy and looked good. Not sure I'd expect to pay for it though, so don't know how you'd monetise (if at all)
Yes I agree - personally I wouldn’t invest money into it unless the raise was guaranteed, which of course, it wouldn’t be.
I’d be more inclined to do so after using it once with a successful outcome, but that narrows the audience even further.
I wonder if there are any other ways to monetise other than just paying for access 🤔
Charge companies to integrate into their own annual review system, which most of the time sucks or only opens 2 weeks a year, forcing one to scramble.
Good idea, all of the companies I have worked for in the UK resort to word doc templates 🤦♂️
No. I'm an entrepreneur.
IH is almost the exact opposite audience you should ask this to!
Nice, I’m jealous of you.
I feel like a big portion of the IH audience are working full time and considering leaving to peruse something, so I think it’s a valid question.
What are you working on?
Hi Sam, the idea caught my eye but it could breach employment contracts :(
Interesting... in what way?
I was thinking about internal achievements that might contain sensitive data.
