Bought a new MacBook Pro tonight, here are my initial thoughts ~3 hours in:
The keyboard is much less of an issue than I expected and I'd even say I prefer it to the older models. Typing takes less effort and I seem to type quite a bit faster on the new keyboard.
Speakers are awesome.
Display is awesome.
Working with the touch bar has been fantastic so far in, I can lower/raise volume faster than I would be able to hunting for a GUI-based volume control or pressing the volume up/down button for X seconds.
Not specific to the MacBook itself, but the customer service rep gave me a student discount, and I've been out of school for 4+ years (shoutout to Apple, Helen @ the Mac store for this).
Overall I'm really happy with the experience so far. Just hoping my keyboard holds up in the long run.
I love the new keyboard, but after about 4 months my caps lock and shift key(left side) started to stick. I am pretty sure I can just take it back to apple and get this fixed since it's in warranty.
Keep us updated on how you like it over time.
