Chat (synchronous) form of communication isn't enough for modern communication. It creates stress and burnout and important conversations get buried under casual chit-chat.

One of the alternatives to Chat platforms is building organised discussion forums with Asynchronous communication. Think of a forum like IndieHackers but for your organisation.

    I have been working on such a product, it's called Roundup ( http://roundup.co/ ).

Currently, I'm running a free beta if someone wants to give it a spin.

    Great article Shaun!

When we first launched our SaaS tool ruttl it was extremely difficult for us to handle all the user feedback that was coming through mails but after we created a dedicated slack channel, the conversations just flowed and we could keep the entire team in the loop.

We saw tremendous growth in loyalty after implementing this and it was all because our customers knew we cared about their issues and were willing to provide them the best experience.
