When I first built Rankiwiki, I imagined watching the traffic slowly grow 10 people today, 100 next week, maybe 1,000 one day.
Well, it’s been a while… and it’s still around 10.
Ten visitors.
Every day.
Sometimes less.
And honestly? I have no idea where they come from.
I haven’t spent a cent on marketing. There are no popups, no tracking pixels, and no growth hacks.
Just a small site quietly existing in the corner of the internet where a few people somehow find it, rank something, and disappear.
There’s no revenue yet, but I also haven’t built for that part.
I’ve been more obsessed with making the interaction feel alive.
When someone adds a comment and sees the ranking move instantly that tiny spark is still what keeps me building.
This part the quiet middle doesn’t get much attention.
It’s not “launch day” excitement, and it’s not “$10k MRR” success.
It’s the space in between, where you just show up every day, tweak one thing, fix another, and hope it slowly compounds.
Sometimes it feels like shouting into a void.
But then someone leaves a ranking that makes me laugh and it feels like a small signal from the universe: keep going.
I’m planning to focus on two things:
Clarity in the experience making it easier for first-time visitors to instantly “get it.”
Visibility through honesty sharing the journey openly here and elsewhere, not pretending it’s bigger than it is.
If you want to see how far 10 visitors a day can go, you can check out Rankiwiki.com.
It’s still small, still raw but it’s real.
Next time, I’ll share what I’m learning about visibility and momentum when you’re building something that isn’t viral at least not yet.
why not throw google analytics on there?
