How many time a day do you look at your google analytics traffic? someday I start thinking I am addicted :-( keep searching for ways to improve conversion and learn where and why traffic arrives from those locations
Because it really is addicting, i remember watching my active/live user count constantly. Idk it just feels great knowing that people use something you made.
Need more addictions? Take a look at the webmaster tools dashboard as well.
I check GA & GSC for 10 mins everyday just to make sure that everything is normal and then I do a weekly analysis of all the GA & GSC that I am currently working on.
Thanks , seems to be the way to do it - we keep shipping new product and with everylaunch i get stuck on GA :-)
I can understand the addiction with GA. It took me more than 3 months to understand my addiction so I switched to 10 min modle hehe.
About once per week. 🤷♂️
Probably about 3 times a week. But truthfully, I find GA only tells half the story.
We use 3 analytics tools at OHNO.
fullstory
GA
and Mixpanel
Fullstory is great for finding out a lot about friction. Where are people getting stuck, and what don't they understand.
GA is good for us in terms of viewing totals of user traffic. How many new users, organic traffic, channels, that kind of thing. But where it's not so useful is when we want really specific information. There is also a bit of a time lag.
Mixpanel plugs the gaps where GA misses. We use it to tell us things like
Show me this specific event, in the last 30 days, but exclude everyone with an email address that contains some syntax. So for us, I often exclude our email address domain. But also just comparing events is a lot easier in Mixpanel too.
Once a week, we get together, and we compare the numbers on the things we are tracking too.
Thank you! i have used Mix panel when we had an app and needed user lever analytics - i guess will look into them again
Same thing with social media on the phone. Sometimes it’s better to just let it go and have more time to be productive - but i know it’s hard
Interesting take on this by @patwalls, founder of starterstory.com ...

thanks for the share - it's great! loved the "Cold Turkey"
@patwalls i feel like a junky everytime i log in :-)
Yo!
Dude it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I now only look at it once a week, based on a calendar event I set.
It's helped me become a lot more productive and has given me a ton of mental clarity.
