I find a lot of new marketers don't invest enough time into optimizing subject line + preview and underestimate the impact they can make on the open rates. And SO many good brands don't set the preview at all, leaving it with placeholder content :-o
At the end of the day, the content of the email needs to be valuable so subscribers always anticipate quality content and want to open your email, so marketers should consider quality of emails over frequency.
Other examples of triggering subject lines could be those that include emojis, cause they draw attention. You can also write a piece of advice, like (silly example) "Do not commit these Instagram atrocities", it's helpful but the reader will also want to reassure themselves and be sure they don't belong with the ones that do commit these atrocities.
You can play with people's FOMO, laziness, greed...
And you can use retargeting emails, when they leave your website without buying anything for instance ("These cute jeans are still waiting for you").
