12 clicks, 17.1K impressions, and the pledge I broke — month 2 of the KinetixSEO bet

Month two, KinetixSEO. Same date as last time — the 15th was always the checkpoint.

The numbers, honest breakdown this time

Last month I said 6 users. This month it's 15 — but the headline number lies a little, so let me split it: 5 contractors, 5 testers, 5 actual free-tier users. Real organic interest is still single digits. €0 revenue, same as last month, no paid signups yet.

GSC: 12 clicks, 17.1K impressions. Last month it was 2 clicks and 233 impressions, so impressions are up 73x. Clicks barely moved. Why: average position is 76.8. That's page 8. Nobody scrolls to page 8. The impressions prove Google found the pages, the clicks prove nobody's clicking something ranked 76th. That's a rankings problem, not a content or citation problem, and it's the expected shape of month two — you show up before you show up high.

Pages: 72 actually published, 151 written and seeded in the pipeline, against a plan of 330. Free scan redemptions are up sharply too — havent nailed down an exact number yet, fixing that for next month.

Two corrections from last month

First: I said the page plan was 250. It's actually 330. I undercounted it in the first post, not a change of scope — same plan, I just wrote the wrong number down.

Second, the one I'm less comfortable admitting: I wrote "one channel, not five" and specifically talked myself out of a YouTube account. This month I added X automation and started a YouTube channel. Broke it. Not hiding that.

X automation is giving free SEO/GEO advice on X and building an actual brand around KinetixSEO — I still count that as distribution of work I already did, not a new treadmill. YouTube is different and I'll say so plainly: it's shorts, and I'm testing the platform because I have zero experience with it. That's a real second channel, costing hours the month-0 post said wouldn't get spent. Doing it anyway because I don't know if YouTube is useless for this or not, and I'd rather find that out in month two than assume it in month twelve. If it doesn't pull weight I'll kill it and say so here.

Answering aryan_sinh's question, in public this time

Good thread last month — aryan_sinh asked which of the three avatars (small-business self-serve, AI-visibility watcher, SEO consultant) I'm actually betting the business on. I answered in the replies but not everyone reads comments, so: AI-visibility avatar. Full focus there. Most kids dont use search engines anymore, my 75 year old mom asks AI instead of googling — I keep repeating that line because I keep believing it. SEO consultants already have their own tooling and dashboards, a foothold there is a pipedream. The self-serve small business owner is a fine secondary audience but not who I'm building the roadmap around.

What's getting built right now

Marketing infrastructure, an article automation + content-decay pipeline (catching pages that lose ranking so they get refreshed instead of quietly rotting), and an outreach setup — all three in progress, none finished enough to report real numbers on yet. Next month I'll have results, not just "in progress."

Where this leaves the bet

Same clock as last month: 12 months from launch, and if the pages are indexed and I'm still under 50 paid scans or under 10 people on Solo, the thesis is wrong and I'll post that. Page count target grew from what I told you (330, not 250), the finish line didn't move.

Average position 76.8 and 12 clicks is not a good month by any normal measure. Posting it anyway — that was the whole point of doing this in public, the flat months count too.

  1. 1

The 17.1K impressions vs 12 clicks tells you Google is finding the pages, but the more important signal may be the 5 actual free-tier users. Do those users behave differently from the contractors/testers, and do they resemble the AI-visibility customer you’ve decided to build for?

    1. 1

So far the free tier users seem to focus on the SEO/GEO scan while the contracters and testers focus on monitoring AI for their websites
