Hey Indie Hackers,
I'm a developer with over a decade of experience, primarily building and selling PHP scripts. One of my most successful products was a QR code generator on Envato, which achieved over 1,800 sales with a consistent 5-star rating.
A common theme among my buyers was: "How can I monetize this? I want to offer dynamic QR codes to my local clients!" This consistent feedback led to a significant pivot.
My New Ecosystem:
I decided to rebuild my battle-tested QR code engine into a dual-pronged offering:
A Hosted SaaS Platform (B2C): For end-users (small businesses, restaurants) who simply want to generate and manage dynamic QR codes directly from my site ( https://qrcdr.pro ), without any technical setup.
A Powerful WordPress Plugin (B2B): For agencies, developers, or entrepreneurs who want to launch their own dynamic QR code SaaS. This plugin installs on their WordPress site, includes built-in Stripe subscriptions, and white-labeling features, effectively turning their WP site into a complete QR code SaaS engine. The PRO license for this plugin is sold on my personal shop.
The Challenge (and why I need your help):
I've already passed the initial "honeymoon period" with sales, mainly from my warm audience (few newsletter subscribers). I've validated that there's demand for both the hosted SaaS and the B2B plugin.
However, I'm now hitting a wall with cold customer acquisition. Sales have flatlined, and I'm struggling to effectively attract new users for both sides of the business.
My main hypothesis is that I'm still encountering a form of cognitive overload or misplaced marketing efforts:
For the B2C SaaS ( qrcdr.pro ): Despite having vertical landing pages (e.g., for WiFi QR codes, Restaurant Menus), I'm not attracting enough organic traffic, or the conversion rate from cold traffic is low.
For the B2B Plugin ( sold on veno.es/shop/ ): How do I reach agencies and entrepreneurs who are looking to start a SaaS, without directly spamming them? My free plugin on WordPress.org has a banner inside its settings page, but it's not driving enough conversions to the PRO license.
My questions to the community:
Given my setup with separate B2C ( qrcdr.pro ) and B2B ( veno.es/shop/ for the plugin) offerings, what are the most effective cold traffic acquisition strategies you've successfully used for each type of product?
How would you improve the SEO/content strategy for the SaaS to attract non-technical end-users? Should each vertical landing page (e.g., Bitcoin QR) also feature long-form content/guides?
What are smart, non-spammy ways to reach agencies and entrepreneurs interested in a "SaaS-in-a-box" like my WordPress plugin?
Any general feedback on my websites' copy, UI, or overall positioning is highly appreciated.
I'm eager to learn from your experiences in scaling cold traffic and appreciate any insights you can offer. Thanks for your time!
