Hey guys, I was sent here by the CTO of a successful bootstrapped company.
My company sells websites and marketing software to boutique gym owners. Our websites are built on Wordpress and we use whitelabeled marketing software.
Like the title says, we’ve been able to grow quickly, but there is a much larger opportunity in our space if we could incorporate gym management software into our platform.
Right now most gym owners are paying $200-$300 a month for marketing software (appointment scheduling, automated lead nurture, opportunity tracking etc.) and another $200-$300 a month for gym management software (member management, billing, class reservations etc.)
Adding gym management software to our platform could reduce cost and complexity for our customers if it was done well.
As the title also implies, building software is not our skillset. We don’t have the technical talent to do this well.
After talking with a handful of successful software founders, it sounds like finding the right technical co-founder is really make or break for an endeavor like this.
Is it worth investing in a good technical co-founder or should we just double down on what we're doing right now?
Hi Nofun,
I'm not familiar with your product but it seems that you've already managed to integrate marketing softwares into your platform. What's preventing you from doing the same with gym management softwares ?
Do you need to create such gym management softwares or is it "just" a matter of integrations with the platform ?
The former is way more complex than the latter and might, indeed, require a technical expertise.
Overall, I think it is a good idea to provide a more streamlined/integrated experience to gym owners. Especially when the market is such a specific niche.
If you want so, I can provide technical help on your project (I'm a senior software engineer based in Paris, working for an adtech company, and looking for new business opportunities). You can reach me out at ihavenomoreideas31@gmail.com (don't mind the strange email, it's a secondary email. I don't want to disclose my main address publicly).
Have a nice day !
