15+ free Reddit digests. Lots of “these threads match.” Payments: $0.

ThreadScout = daily scored Reddit threads for your niche (discovery-first). No auto-posting.

Demo: https://www.loom.com/share/5b178932cc9149f1ac30970e179e819b
App: https://threadscout-theta.vercel.app

Learning the hard way: product praise ≠ payment. Pre-revenue “test first / free until I get a customer” almost never closes. Shadowban = feed useless.

~8 days left on a hard payment gate.

ICP: live product + you already hunt Reddit + account can still post.
$19 first month (refund if you try and don’t want it) → then $39/mo. Or 10 min call.

Would you kill free samples entirely at this point?

did the same thing on my launch post - "free pro to anyone who'll break it." zero conversions. one thing i missed until later: the free version wasn't a sample, it was a complete product. same shape as yours. 15+ free digests is enough to run the whole workflow indefinitely, and if people get value they never upgrade.

paid needs to unlock something structural that free can't do, not just more of the same. what's the thing threadscout paid does that the free digests structurally cant?

Straight answer: right now, nothing. That's the actual problem and you just named it better than I have.

The free sample is the full workflow. Scored feed, reasons, subs mapped. Someone can run that indefinitely and never need to pay. I've been treating it as a demo, but it's a complete product — you're right.

So the fix isn't better closing, it's making paid structurally different. The two candidates I see:

      1. Free = one static sample feed, run once, manually, by me. Paid = the daily recurring digest. You can't get "every morning" without paying. That's the structural line.
      2. Free = scores only. Paid = the ongoing tracking of which threads are still active and worth replying to, plus new ones daily.

Leaning toward (1) — the recurring part is the actual work and the actual value. One-off sample proves the scoring matches your instinct; the subscription is what removes the daily hunt.
