A cheat sheet to start journaling in 2023
This is an impressive list, has me curious how you generate them initially. I know it's a bit meta, but what's the prompt for generating these prompts?
Haha great question! I write a newsletter called Prompted, and each week I write about a new idea and share 3 prompts to go along with it.
I started in January of 2022 so 3 prompts after 52 weeks left me with 156 prompts. I aggregated them into one blog post and there ya have it!
Here's the newsletter if you want to check out any of the ideas in more detail https://www.prompted.kevinbronander.com/
I noticed it was a compilation (thanks for that by the way!), I think I'm just stuck in the jealousy that you can come up with these ideas week after week. Where do you pull inspiration from?
Ah I see! Sorry for the confusion.
All of the inspiration for the ideas comes from my own life or the books/podcasts/media I consume.
Once I started the newsletter it took a while to get into the habit of realizing that the struggles I was having or the ideas I was thinking a lot about would be great concepts to share. The same thing happened with the books and podcasts I listen to.
I was thinking so much about all these ideas and slowly built the habit of writing them down and then coming back to them later to expand and elaborate on them.
The "secret" has been building the recognition that something is interesting or important, capturing the idea, and then coming back to write more about it.
Thanks for sharing Kevin, bookmarked
Of course. Hope it's helpful!
