Jasper AI, which was started only in 2021, has now become a $1.7B software company in October 2022. What did they do? Take advantage of Open AI’s GPT-3 at the right time.
AI is the next trillion dollar trend. If you want to get on early and capitalize on AI ideas just like Jasper did in 2021, this is the post you’ll thank years later when you have become a billionaire. Here are 17 Hot AI opportunities in 2022 :-
1 - AI Language Learning
Let's say you want to learn Spanish. You go to Duolingo, the lessons are good but they don't actually teach you to converse in Spanish. You just memorize some Spanish words and their meanings in English.
Now, You go to Babbel. You start learning Spanish through text based chats and also by speaking to an actual human by video calling.
What if we replace this process with AI. AI over the text chat will text you just like a human would teach you. The video calling can be generated with AI too. Synthesia.io & Elai.io generate AI humans which are pretty realistic. AI can already talk to AI, so why not us?
The text based learning can be done now in 2022, and the video calling AI feature is a little more ambitious but I can see it happening in 2023-2024.
2 - AI Game Asset Generator
A very ambitious one. This is the future of game development. Take a look at this reddit video where the player is generating game posters in-game with AI.
Imagine if there was DALL·E 2 but for 3D assets (DALL·E 3 maybe?)
It will generate 3D Characters, Cars, Worlds, with a click of a button. Simply revolutionary.
Though it isn’t that simple to train an AI model on 3D objects. But I can see this coming into existence within the next 4-5 years. Even sooner, who knows.
3 - AI Job Board
Whenever there’s a new trend in the market, the job demands will go through the roof. We saw this in the Web3 space where Web3.carrer capitalized on the opportunity to create a multi-million dollar Job Board.
The same thing is happening with AI right now. Create a job board focusing only on AI related jobs.
4 - AI Podcast Maker
Take a look at this Joe Rogan-Steve jobs podcast which was completely generated using AI (Both, the script and the voice)
It is truly scary how realistic it is. It’s also fascinating, and opportunistic. If you create a service that’ll create a text-to-speech generator this realistic, and convert scripts into podcasts, it’s gonna be big.
5 - Wordtune Alternative
Grammarly is BIG ($13B). The creator of Wordtune, an advanced paraphrasing tool, is also pretty big ($1B+)
Wordtune is a fairly simple yet useful chrome extension. I use it on a daily basis. But I’ve found that its free plan is quite limited at only 20 uses per day. For unlimited uses, you have to pay $10/month. When I looked for alternatives, interestingly I couldn’t find anything that is as decent as Wordtune. Most are below than average products.
You can replicate Wordtune and provide the same service for $5/month (Or 30 uses per day)
It isn’t that hard to develop something like this with Open AI’s GPT-3.
6 - AI Website Builder
Another very ambitious one. But if done right, this will be revolutionary.
Feed an AI model like DALL·E 2 with only Website designs → Users describe their website in finest details → Generate an image of how the website’s frontpage will look → Let the user decide the look→ Generate & overlay the components that’ll make the website come into existence.
The last part’s the hardest. But that’s also why it can be revolutionary. AI website builders exists but all are garbage because there really is no creativity. DALL·E 2 will bring the creativity here.
7 - AI Ecommerce Product Photography
This one has a lot of potential. Ecommerce brands & dropshippers spend thousands of dollars every month to get a photograph of their product.
You can automate this with AI
Brand uploads a raw photo of their product → AI generates a professional product photo in 5 seconds, for $5.
Note: If you want to start, I’ll recommend experimenting with Stable Diffusion API because it’s one of the best text-to-image API fully available to the public. And it’s also pretty good. There’s also Lexica’s API
Tip: Go to Fiverr and look for opportunities that can be automated with AI
8 - AI Developer Tools
Snyk, Sonarqube, Github Co-pilot - All these tools help developers test their code for security issues, measure code-quality and generate code for them.
You can use the Open AI’s codex API to build your own developer tools that’ll help developers generate and write better code.
Example - This man created a AI developer saas with the help of Open AI codex and sold it for $30k
9 - AI News writer
An AI writer like Jasper AI, but exclusively for journalism. This can be used by Media companies to automate the process of writing news every day and reduce their work labor.
10 - AI SEO Writer
An AI writer focusing on SEO. There exists a combination of Jasper AI ($1.7B) + Surfer SEO ($7M revenue) which helps users write content specifically for SEO purposes. You can make your own AI SEO writer with the help of GPT-3 (For writing) and Google Search console and other Web-crawlers (For SEO data) and market it as an AI writer exclusively for SEO.
Here’s a nice guide on how to make your own SEO tool from scratch
11 - AI Model For Music
DALL·E 2, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, all of these companies are creating AI models that they sell to developers via APIs.
You can create your own AI model for music. Download all of the music that’s on spotify & soundcloud and feed it to the AI. Crazy, I know, but also pretty interesting.
12 - AI Model Analytics
Big companies are constantly creating world-changing AI models. But they need something to monitor their AI’s performance
Like Google Analytics, but for big AI models.
You probably can’t create enterprise grade software but there can be a lot of opportunity on the smaller scale.
13 - AI Name Generator (And Domain Finder)
This was a very surprising one for me. When I started The Narrative, I was unsure about the business name. So, I went to namelix and searched for it.
During my search, it seemed like EVERY single domain was taken. I wanted the .com domain and there was literally not a single decent .com domain available. Everything was taken. There are solutions but they are not good at all. Here’s what you can do :-
Create a name generator like very similar to namelix →
Add a filter to only show available .com domain names →
Make money through affiliates
14 - AI Reviews Analyser
Companies get thousands of reviews per day. But they don’t have the time to go through every single one of them.
You can create an AI tool which goes through all of these reviews and prepares a nice report on what problem the users are facing, the key things they are saying about their product and curate all the keywords from the reviews.
15 - AI Video Editor
Checkout Runway. It’s an AI video editor which is absolutely exploding in popularity right now. It can remove objects from a video, Green screen objects and remove backgrounds without the need of recording on a green screen and also motion track with AI. AI video editing is going to be BIG. The idea of an AI video editor is certainly worth looking into
16 - AI Video Generator
It’s happening. A lot of tools now make AI generated videos with a click of a button. Meta also just announced Make-A-Video, an AI text-to-video model.
The opportunities are essentially endless - AI stock video, AI product design, AI ecommerce product videos etc, everything can be done cheaper and faster through AI.
Bonus: Runway also is developing a text-to-video AI model and giving it via APIs. You can join the waitlist now! Join here
I can imagine that many products will be created around these industries. Artificial intelligence is definitely one of the biggest trends after the internet era.
Thats a great article man, kudos 👏👏
AI is going to be a big part of this industry. All the stock image website may die soon if they don't pivot.
And it's amazing to see how much AI can do, it can create interior and exterior of houses, imaginary objects and much more.
AI generating software will be a pretty big market 🔥
Probably one of the most exciting and inspiring article that I read here!
Thx a lot @indieAbhinav !
You're welcome 😄
I was actually looking for something like your newsletter. Need a way to stay up to date with tech trends, the frontiers, and potential opportunities out there. So much of getting the right multi-million/billion dollar idea is just being aware of these things. Big opportunities are almost always on the frontier.
Looking forward to future newletters!
thank you, this was actually insightfull

Woah nice post!
On Runway's list now. Text-to-video is going to be revolutionary
Absolutely
