17k Signups in one year just uploading TikTok videos 🤯

Hello Founders!

I want to share with you guys this Marketing experience. I started about a year ago with my MVP just having a simple functionality of uploading images and PDFs to show them in a QR code/link. So I made an Instagram Reel which I saved and uploaded to several social media platforms, then I went to sleep. To my surprise, the video went a little viral on TikTok with 35k views right the next morning! This gave me what I needed to start getting one signup a day and feedback from real users. The next step was quite obvious. I focused on making more TikToks in the following months. After a year, my TikTok account has 37k followers and my webpage has more than 17k signups.

What was the secret?

I think there is no single rule which makes you go viral, but after analyzing other SaaS TikTok accounts and my video's style I found these advantages:

  1. Keep your videos as short as possible.
You don't need to specify all the steps to get your SaaS result or tell a big story. Just say what is the most important and show functional use cases.

  2. Follow trends.
Once you are on track with TikTok, you need to watch some videos on the "For You" section to understand and mimic trending dancing videos or just comedy dialogs related to your project.

  3. Find your style.
If you post a video that gets more views than usual, try to follow the same pattern to make your upcoming videos. Maybe different examples recording with the same frames and video length.

If all your videos follow the same topic, you just have to stay consistent until one video goes viral.

Hope you find this helpful!

Well done on the progress so far.

Of the 17k signups, I'd be curious to know how many people from TikTok have converted into paying customers?

      Thanks @LachlanKirkwood!
I integrated paying plans 3 months after the first launch and there have been around 300 paying customers so far. That makes a conversion of around 1.7%.

    Huh, this is awesome!!

I squatted my username and never look back. Recently I've been thinking about it, now those numbers seems to be a good reason :) Glad that it's working for you.

I don't have much opinion except believing it's a video platform for weird dances and twerks. However applying any trend to your niche makes it unimaginably work.
