180 Degree Turn: Can you roast this landing page?
Hi there.
Unfortunately my last idea did not work out as well as I thought. So I implemented a new landing page for a whole different idea.

First of all, I quite like the clean minimal approach and consistent colours; I feel like this is the sort of design someone from a dev background would find familiar and easy to use.
However, there are a couple of things that stood out at me. First of all the purpose of the landing page is not immediately clear, is it more of a startup aggregator or do you plan on expanding the functionality in the future ?
Thank you! Right now, it's just a startup aggregator for innovative startups. In the future, I plan to expand the functionality. Maybe something around the theme "Corporate meets Startup". Maybe a newsletter and a job board for remote startup jobs. I'll evaluate different approaches here.
I think you will soon have to add categories to improve search and ux. But more broadly I would imagine the first problem you'd come across is quality control, I think pretty soon the site might fill up with lower quality entries making it hard to find the really interesting stuff. Some sort of rating engine ala product hunt might be a good idea.
I totally agree with everything you've said. This is a super valuable comment for me! Thanks! For quality, I've got something with machine learning in mind. What is "really interesting stuff" for you?
I mean genuinely useful / ground breaking startups. Personally that's why I hang out a lot on product hunt to try and find new solutions to personal and business problems. Being an early adopter by nature, means I try a lot of new apps and services, which can be a bit hit and miss
Ah, I see. So we should answer the question "How ground breaking is this startup?". Has "A" or "B" more disruptive power? :)
I’d change your “early access” cta to a call to value. Something like “start getting X”
Thank you, Shayan! I totally agree that a call to value is better. I completely agree with you. I just need to keep the text short so it fits well on mobile screens. Do you have any more ideas what I could write on this button?
Hey there. Nice idea. You're getting there but you design is still a bit too generic. Try using this HTML theme called Reach the Grid or Idea Burst. It has a different feel and it goes along more with what you are doing.

What I mean is that the illustrations look generic and so does the layout of the site. Does that make sense?
I understand. I think you have a valid point. But at the moment, I'm just trying to validate the idea. I guess it would be called premature optimization for the stage this product is in.
Undraw is fine, lots of non technical folks love it and visitors don't mind at all.
Only people who dislike it at the moment are designers :)
