So, as the title says, theres a lot of traffic in Colors & Fonts but I am not getting enough subscribers.
Some days there's a bunch signs up, like in 1 day there was ~220.
Other days between 0 and 15.
I tried moving the cta on the top but it doesn't help.
After this I decided to redesign the whole site and give and start a new concept.
I an going to work with it to make look more like a SAAS that offers small tools and the chance to learn how to apply palettes.
You can see here the live version.
And now I am working on the redesign.
In this last one I made a cta on the landing page and also on the bottom. A part of the newsletter's landing page.
I am currently up to 608 subscribers.
I am open for any kind of suggestion.
Thank you so much !
Maybe say something like βGet the top 5 resources in your inbox once a weekβ. People might be sure what theyβre getting exactly, how itβs better then just visiting your site, how often youβd be emailing them. Giving them a little more info on the format may help.
Hey Gabe, thank you for answering.
What info do you think is missing ?
In the new design it says slide to subscribe, but doesnβt really say anything about the newsletter or why I should signup, so my suggestion was to pitch it as a way to get the very best of colors and fonts once a week.
Oh, true. I am haven't got there still. My apologies. I should have mention.
I was planning to put underneath a button with ( tell me more ) and a button with ( go to tools ) and quick explanation.
I took a quick look at your site. It doesn't offer anything that has not been available on the net for many years. It's modern and has cute images, but I would pass. Maybe work on content?
Just a suggestion, don't want to be discouraging.
Also not clear why you are running after subs. Yours is a product/utility, not a social focussed site. I use fontawesome, gif creators etc but have no interest in getting their newsletters. Try to convert visitors to paid users.
Well there's a newsletter that shows how to use colours through a design system.
And it you want to use the colors with js and scss the files are ready on github.

Here is an example
https://www.figma.com/file/u6nOWPmsYl4dmeh7hjwruQ/Color-Palette-By-Example-N3?node-id=0%3A1
The reason of doing this is because i had a lot of users asking me to see examples.
For me personally I had no idea I'd get that (the figma file, or similar) when subscribing to the newsletter. Try explaining it better, or perhaps adding some imagery to aid.
A suggestion that might or might not work - reword the newsletter heading from "Join hundreds of designers and developers receiving color palettes by example twice a week." to something on the lines of:
"Want to see how these would look on your website? Join our newsletter and get design samples for inspiration, delivered twice a month!"
I'm by no means a marketing expert (or know much about marketing for that matter) so take my advice with a pinch of salt.
P.S. I think I saw your site months ago on /r/SideProject , I'm very glad you kept going!
All the best and good luck!
Hey Ivelin, yes you probably did saw it, I carried on because I know I can make it in one way or another, I know there are users for this...
I have reworded actually, just when I got msg I was working on that I have even moved the banner up, you can see it here.

also the text is changed on the newsletter page.
thank you for taking your time
To me, the biggest issue with the current design is it doesn't look like or talk about being a newsletter or about getting daily/weekly updates via email. I run a newsletter, https://getsaasweekly.com/, and push the benefits as well as make it clear to what this is for right away.
You have great organic traffic, but there's no hook for visitors to want to engage more, and visually it's not in their face.
The new design is better, but with sign ups, it's almost always better to be upfront and direct VS cutesy.
your 100% right jeff, I have been afraid to put it on their face to fear that they stop using it.
Checked the page. It looks nice, but not sure what the value prop for subscribing is.
Hey Josh,
The value resides on developers and designers that want to know how to use colors through a design system.
Then if they want to use them they get a scss and js file with the variables ready to use.
Also , I have planned to send color inspiration regarding the palette used then.
In the same mail comes 5 links of helpful resources.
Thank you so much.
Honestly, the sign up is hard to spot. It's way up in the right hand corner and it blends in to black on hover making it less visible.
I would plonk a bit CTA form right in the center where people will see it. Remember that people aren't actively looking for a newsletter sign up form so you have to make it easy for people to find.
I'd also add an exit pop-up asking to subscribe when someone is about to leave.
yeah, it might be hard, because it hasn't work,..
now on the new oneI have put it on the landing straight there. i had a pop up ages ago, didnt work.....
um, the title is really confusing.
What does "18k subs 300 subscribers in 1 month" mean?
ouch, thank you pete. My bad. thi is the right one
18k users and subs 300 subscribers in 1 month. What am I doing wrong
no worries :)
Well, that's a 1.6% conversion rate.
I think it would be good to start with what % are you aiming to convert? Most people don't subscribe. It's a big ask.
To be honest, I am glad that in 2 months 600 users wanted to subscribe, that validates my idea.
My goal is to make the newsletter profitable.
I think there are a couple of big things here that could be holding conversions back.
First, the copy is heavy on features. But people donβt care about features so much as they care about what those features will do the them. Lead with the benefits.
I know you have it a bit in your redesign with the addition of βspeed up productivityβ in your headline, but it could still be more immediate.
I would put the benefit at the very beginning of the messaging and put it in more specific, concrete terms that speak to the pain point. Itβs hard to picture speeding up productivity, so it lacks real meaning or emotional impact.
How much time will they save? How will it make what they do easier and more enjoyable? Speak to that in terms they would use in conversation.
Next, and even more importantly, the offer is a bit confusing. What is it people are actually signing up for? The copy talks about a list of tools and resources but he copy above the CTA at Th e bottom talks about a newsletter.
Is the purpose of the page to get email sign ups or to get into the various tools I the site?
Decide on one offer, one objective, and write to that.
Best of luck.
Hey @seankirby,
Well, a quick look back. I started the page as a small project without any intentions, after a while seen traffic on it I decided that I could make something profitable but ads won't be the main focus, because I don't like them, even if there's one on the live site.
So I thought I could have a newsletter, and there is where everything got messy. I decided that I would send the newsletter after some users feedback that wanted to see an example. Many asked for this actually.
The purpose of the page is that the users use the tool and other or the same user can sign up to the newsletter so they get a visual example of how to use colours through a design system.
I wasn't done completely with the new copy, to be honest, and I had a typo. It was "speed up your productivity".
I wasn't sure where to put the CTA. I have it on the top because is where people are going to see it most....
