Hey guys, I'm struggling with how to start promoting my idea, so maybe any of you have suggestions.

I've been working as a software developer for the past seven years, and I would love to start helping people leaning software development and getting the job of their dreams (like I did for myself when I came to the US).

My plan is:

  1. Promote this landing page https://codingbootcamponline.com/signup and get at least a few hundred signups.
  2. Ask them (via survey) what their most significant obstacles in learning to code and start working in tech are.
  3. Based on their answers, start helping them overcome these obstacles in the form of personal guidance, online course selection, custom courses, webinars, ebooks, job hunting and whatever else might help them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to start with step 1? Thank you!

Put tutorials or career advice on YouTube.

I second this. Start with tutorials. Check the comments on some relevant tutorial videos, identify what information is missing in those tutorials, understand user queries from the comments and cover everything in your tutorial video. Being informative, unique and value-added brings you success. All the best.

There are already a lot of platforms that can offer what I 'think' you're offering.

Thanks the problem here I think.

I have no idea what I'm going to get. Take https://code4startup.com/ for example. I know that if I do a course, I'm getting the skills to build an actual startup.

No problem! I wish you all the best!

Obstacles to learning to code must have been discussed all over the web already. Search on Google and YouTube and see what comes up. I can't imagine you'd have to figure out the answer with your own research.

Thanks for your reply! My initial thinking is to connect with individuals and understand their specific problems so that I can help to solve them on a personal level. Then, I'd like to use this experience to create digital products for a more broad audience. But yeah, I can definitely combine this approach with what's already out there.

I am promoting my startup just asking people online here and there about what they need in their businesses. They start telling me about theis diffuculties and then I try to push them to the fact they need my unlimited design service... it goes quite well with my business this way...

Start with good content. Find out what content works for your niche like others said one are tutorials.
But more general editorial style articles that target your audience might work too.
Create the youtube videos with short form of the articles, and have the longform content on your page.

Shameless plug: You can also use our service (https://fullservice.co/service/content-marketing) to let us do it for you. It's exactly what we do!

You have a typo in your first pararaph.

"300% growth other 6 months is totally doable"

      :)

You can start by promoting your landing page in social media. Share on various groups. Post on LinkedIn, as most people come there looking for jobs.
