1st attempt. Feedback appreciated

I know I'm not going to make it look as awesome as some of the sites on here. I'm not a designer and I'm a frontend noob.

I'm not striving for perfection, just want to make sure it doesn't suck.

I'd love some feedback on:

  • clarity of copy / what even is this
  • layout / structure
  • CTAs / email capture
  • overall look

I'll give 5 feedbacks on here to show I'm not just a taker 😄

Thanks 😊

    Hey Rob!

Firstly, the problem you're trying to solve resonates with me. I work with distributed/remote teams and have experienced the issues you've described on the landing page.

The copy is clear and gave me a high level understanding of the product.

    Few look/few suggestions

    1. The call to action header is being cut off on my 13" laptop, I would suggest making the call to action fill at least half the screen on landing and emphasize the "Get your invite" action
Here's a screenshot of what I was playing around with:

    1. The "Your scheduling pains" header and content below it can be merged in to the feature description below to give a better sense of space. The content also relates to the blocks below and I think it works quite nicely when merged together. I'd also consider increasing font size.

    Something like this:

    1. The footer isn't serving much purpose yet, I'd suggest removing for now or possibily changing the appearance by removing the purple background, adding a grey border-top to seperate your social icons from the body of the page

    Great concept and business idea.
    Good luck!

Wow 🙌thanks so much for taking the time to give such detailed feedback. Really appreciated.

I'll get to work on them ASAP.

And thanks for the encouragement re: concept 👊

The plannit-home.png is cut-off at the bottom. Therefore, part of the UVP is missing.

I guess, you should add headers to the four solution boxes so that these headers could be read standalone. Keep in mind that a lot of people will just fly over the headers and will not read the detailed descriptions. If there are no headers, they might read nothing at all.

Thank you so much for taking the time. Great feedback. The header thing makes lots of sense. I'll get on it.

      Much appreciated!

Hi Rob! I think the site looks good overall.

    • the tagline immediately tells me what the tool does and it's easy to understand. the other rest of the copy is clear too. there are a few typos I noticed that made the site feel less professional (e.g.: Plannit's automated scheduling removes solves all of these!, continous)

    • agree that you should make the hero image take up more space, maybe like height: 90vh or something. the words in the hero image are also kinda blurry, i would try to use html/css to overlay your logo and tagline over the image! if not, maybe you could convert the image to an SVG? to keep that sharpness in the text.

    • i think the footer is too big / bold for the amount of information it conveys. you could keep the footer but make it much smaller. perhaps just a small logo and twitter icon, with a copyright notice. see slab.com for an example.

Thank you so much for taking the time and for being so thorough! You've got a good eye. Need to fix this stuff ASAP.

      Much appreciated.

So blown away by the response here. Thanks everyone for being so generous with your time. I'm very much out of my comfort zone here and you have all helped me a lot. I'll work to implement the excellent and actionable feedback ASAP.

    Thank you 🙌

Hi Rob, I hope you're doing fine!

    Let's go:
1-Since the 'get an invite ' and signup do the same, just keep one and make it bigger. From my point of view, I would remove the one from the hero section, keep the one in the topbar and change the copy from 'signup' to 'try it' or 'lets try it' or 'give it a try' or 'get your invite'
2- As long is the pharagraph, higher has to be the line-height and its font-size. Make the text of the 4 steps (try font-size: 1.35rem and line-height: 1.75)
3- Those images that are center-aligned, the text should too. Or both to the left, or both in the center.
    4- Remove that Footer which only gives the company name (you can always see it in the topbar) and make a border-bottom 10px solid (your purple) to the last element;
5- It's strange that the logo is made with blue and your color on the web is purple, both should be the same.

    I hope it helps!

    Hi,
I would emphasize much more that it is a planning/scheduling software to avoid timezone/remote working troubles, if I got this right and this is your UVP.
    Best wishes

      Thanks for taking the time.

Ya, who knew copywriting was so hard 🤣. I think this is great feedback. Think I'm fumbling over myself trying to describe who's problems it might solve but need to be clear on what the hell it even is.

      Thanks again, Rob

Overall it looks fine. But here are some suggestions:

    1. The hero image isn't long enough. It seems a bit weird to me (my opinion) that it's getting cut off half way through the page.
    2. It's hard to see the image - I would remove the tile effect and just have the one image of the UI show
    3. The scheduling pain bullet points seem to just be thrown in with no alignment. I would either align these better or remove the bullet points. 2-3 sentences might look better than the bullet points

Otherwise it looks fine. It might help to add images of the app UI so that the user can see the features.

Thanks so much for taking the time. Agree with all the feedback. Particular point 3. Hate that bit. Will fix it.

      Cheers, Rob
