2,000 Active users in 1st Month & what I learned.

PodRoom : Podcast Chatrooms platform for the podcast communities.

Let me tell you a few things that has happened in 1 month. I refreshed the list of PodRoom active users database at least every minute for the past one month and we’ve achieved 2050 sign ups so far. We are still bootstrapped, constantly marketing via word of mouth and facebook/google/Apple search ads for about a week.
In one of the podcast chatrooms (Voice of depression podcast) someone reported a case of depression and was immediately surrounded with love from the Host of the community and other fellow subscribers. This gave me great joy because these kinds of stories fuel ⛽️ my passion for building a solution like PodRoom was built in the first place.

Sadly we also did not accept the first VC offering us 100k because he had no experience.

We have also been featured on a number of Startup communities, including Taalk as promising start up of 2020. Find the article here.

In case you’re reading this and you feel you can add value whether business or technically reach out to me. We are looking for people to join the team, people who are hungry and want to win. 💕

Excellent start. I like the concept behind connecting podcast communities together outside of social media channels. How are you planning to monetise the platform? Do you have a web app or is it purely for mobile?

    1. 1

Hi, we are working on the webapp as we speak./ monetize by advertising

Very Good start. Keep up the good work guys !
Did you guys did some partnerships with some Podcasters ? Can you please give an idea of the average budget to collaborate with one Podcaster ( with medium popularity)

Hey congrats. 2000 is a big enough number to be celebrating 😍😍

Can I ask a few questions

    1. It seems you tried multiple channels (paid and free) to grow your community . If you could do it all over again, which channels would you prioritize as the best.
    2. Since you turned down the VC offer (for good reasons) and have some insights there, can you help me understand what do investors look for while investing in communities?
    1. 2
      1. In order of priority ; Word of mouth, Google ads, Apple store ads
      2. Investors look for different things, in our case its the problem we are solving, and the number of people that need the app, also the prospects of the industry.
