2 guest tries + 8/day free vs $9 Pro – how I’m pricing a tiny AI regex tool

I’m still early and want a reality check on the freemium split.
Current pricing
- Guest: 2 AI generations (no signup)
- Free account: 8 AI generations per day after email sign-in
- Pro: $9/mo via Paddle — unlimited + cloud history + shareable links
Live testing, replace preview, and multi-language export stay free. I’m trying not to cripple free into a fake demo.
Why this shape
- Regex is occasional for many people — if free is “unlimited forever,” upgrades die.
- 8/day is enough to solve a real task today; cloud history is what makes people want to live in the tool.
- Share links + cloud history feel like clear Pro boundaries (storage + sync), not a fake paywall on core UX.
What I’m unsure about
- Is 8/day too generous or too stingy for signed-in free?
- Would you prefer a higher free cap + higher Pro price?
- Does “cloud history” feel worth paying for more than “share links”?
