2+ years in, here's where Content Raptor stands (and what I've learned)

Hey IH! First post here. I wanted to introduce Content Raptor and share some honest reflections from 2+ years of building.

What is Content Raptor?

It's an AI-powered content optimization tool that connects directly to your Google Search Console data. The core insight: most SEO tools analyze your competitors and work backward. Content Raptor starts with YOUR ranking data and works forward, showing you exactly which pages have the most untapped traffic potential.

You connect GSC, and it pulls your actual impressions, clicks, and position data. Then it combines that with NLP-based entity analysis and competitor benchmarks to generate specific optimization recommendations. Think of it as a personalized content audit based on what Google already knows about your site.

Why I built it

I kept seeing the same pattern in my own SEO work: pages sitting at positions 8-20 with thousands of impressions but almost no clicks. These are pages Google considers relevant but not quite good enough for page 1. A targeted content update on those pages has a much higher ROI than writing something new from scratch.

The existing tools (Surfer at $69-99/mo, Clearscope at $189/mo, MarketMuse at $149/mo) all focus on generic SERP analysis. None of them connect to your GSC data to personalize the recommendations. So I built the tool I wanted to use.

Where things stand

Solo founder, self-funded, still a side project (for now). The stack is TypeScript, Vue 3, PostgreSQL, and Python for the NLP pipeline. Pro plan is $47/mo with a free tier that requires no credit card.

I'm in the early traction phase. The product works well, but distribution is the hard part. In the last week alone, I've been grinding on directory listings, outreach to bloggers writing "best SEO tools" roundups, setting up monitoring for brand mentions, and writing LinkedIn content.

None of it is glamorous. Most of it does not scale. But at this stage, doing things that don't scale IS the strategy.

What's next

1. Shipping a demo mode so people can try the product without connecting GSC first (fixing a 40% funnel drop-off)
2. Building a free public content grading tool as a lead magnet
3. Launching on Product Hunt once demo mode is live
4. Writing comparison blog posts targeting "Surfer alternative" and "Clearscope alternative" keywords

I'll be posting updates here as things progress. Happy to answer any questions about the product, the tech stack, or the SEO space in general.
