2 Years of Building Torii Image Translator
Hey everyone 👋
I’m the solo developer behind Torii Image Translator, an AI-powered tool that translates text inside images, which is especially useful for manga and manhwa fans who want to enjoy content in another language.
I started this project almost 2 years ago as a small side experiment to make manga translation easier. Fast forward to today, Torii handles over 100,000 translation requests per day, and it’s become a reliable source of revenue for me.
It’s been a long road full of challenges ... optimizing OCR, building a clean API, and making translations look natural right on the image, but it’s been worth it.
Over time, I’ve realized there’s huge demand for niche, high-quality AI tools that do one thing really well. Torii isn’t a huge SaaS with a team, haha. It’s just me, focused on solving one specific problem for a passionate community.
