2023 B2B Content Promotion Report

We've recently made the latest Content Promotion Report available with all new research for 2023. Over 360 content marketers took the survey this year and the results are fascinating.

Here are some of the key takeaways:

  • Lack of time is the main reason B2B content marketers don't promote their content enough.
  • All respondents use social media for content promotion, though Twitter usage has dropped.
  • Over half feel their content promotion budget is inadequate.
  • The majority prioritise 'Brand Visibility' and 'Lead Generation' as content promotion goals.
  • Over 88% affirm content promotion positively impacts their content marketing.
  • The majority spend $1000 or less monthly on content promotion, with a small fraction spending over $10,000.
  • 65% of respondents think they're not spending enough time on content promotion. Of those 63%, 82% say it is because of a lack of time.
  • Content promotion platforms are used by nearly 12% of respondents as a paid-for channel for promotion content, and Search Engine Advertising has seen a 25% boost compared to 2022's content promotion report.
  • Nearly 53% of respondents say that paid promotion has "some positive impact", with a further 41% of respondents saying it has a greater, or even significant positive impact.

Local Python scripts have a structural advantage in the current market: they're immune to the SaaS subscription backlash. No recurring costs, no vendor risk, no data concerns.

The positioning challenge is that 'script' sounds less polished than 'platform.' Worth double-down on the positioning: 'the tool you own, not the subscription you rent.'
