I've just begun the "12 Startups in 12 Months" challenge, inspired by @levelsio, @yongfook and a few others.

For my first product, I'm hacking on the idea of automating time-lapse video creation. Here's a video of the prototype so far: https://imgur.com/gallery/RMM5wV3

Why this product? I have hundreds of time-lapse photos sitting on my hard drive because I don't own great video editing software and it feels like a boring/tedious task to me (as a non-professional photographer).

I'll probably switch from generating the video while the user waits to simply sending them an email with a download link when it's ready (since it can take a very long time to process). As for pricing, my initial idea is to give people the low-res video for free, and charge a one-time fee for the high-res version.

Side note: There could be a major down-side to requiring users to upload hundreds/thousands of high-res photos just to create a video from them, so this could be a stupid idea, but it's been fun to play with so far.

Are there any photographers/videographers lurking here in the Indie Hacker community? 🧐 I'd love to hear your thoughts, photographer or not.
