[Ask IH] What are your ideas to improve Indie Hackers?
Later, I'll turn some of your suggestions in a quick survey for anyone to complete. The survey analysis will show what IH should focus on first to create an even better community.
So, first things first: how do you suggest to improve Indie Hackers?
I'd like a button to block a user, so that I can prevent obvious spam accounts from filling my feed with rubbish.
Performance (always)
I would appreciate LinkedIn link in profile.
Open source it so that we can fix and improve it faster.
Re-implement it without Firebase and all this single-page-app stuff. Use plain ol' html and database. Compare the slow and buggy behavior of IndieHackers to the snappy and bug-free HackerNews website. Throw some caching at it, and it would be a whole different world!
A simple version without the bells and whistles. Loading takes a long time at times, which leads me to press something like the back button twice.
Ditch Firebase and SPA
I think the performance is rather bad.
And the mobile experience is always a mess for me, love the site but there are things to improve definitely :)
I just joined this week and was surprised by how slow the site is. I'd definitely focus on performance. Happy to help rearchitect and reengineer for free.
